National Coast Guard Day

The Coast Guard flag hanging outside of the Seufert Law office.

August 4th is National Coast Guard Day! On August 4th 1790, Congress approved Alexander Hamilton’s proposal to build ten cutters to protect the new nation’s revenue. Also known as the system of cutters and Revenue Service, this service would officially be named the Revenue Cutter Service in 1863. This date marks the officially recognized birthday of the Coast Guard. Now known as National Coast Guard Day, August 4th is a time to honor all current and retired Coast Guard service men and women. The staff here at Seufert Law would like to thank all current U.S. Coast Guard members, and those who have served in the past, including our own Christopher Seufert.
